{"id":109,"date":"2025-10-04T15:10:29","date_gmt":"2025-10-04T22:10:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/skinthesis.org\/?page_id=109"},"modified":"2026-09-09T12:06:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T19:06:10","slug":"bug-bites","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/skinthesis.org\/?page_id=109","title":{"rendered":"Bug Bites"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>If anyone is having a serious reaction that suggests anaphylaxis, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Swollen tongue or throat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A weak and rapid pulse<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dizziness or fainting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please seek emergency help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To treat a mild reaction to a bug bite or sting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Remove any stingers\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Scrape the stinger out\u00a0using the edge of a credit card, fingernail, or a similar flat edge. Scrape sideways across the skin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gently wash the area with soap and water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply a cold pack\u00a0wrapped in cloth for 10-20 minutes to reduce swelling and pain.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the counter options are available to manage the symptoms caused by bug bites.
